Waynetown, Aug 20 - Robert Whitaker, 78, well known resident of this place died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Mary Barricklow at noon Wednesday of pneumonia. He had been ill for six weeks, but seriously so only for the last two days. The deceased was born near Crawfordsville on March 13, 1852 the son of Levi and Martha Stump Whitaker. He was united in marriage to Esther Williams on Sept 16, 1872. His wife died on June 23, 1928. Surviving are five daughters: Mrs. Barricklow of here; Mrs. Betty Murray of Harrington, Kas; Mrs. Sadie Switzer of Dwight, Kas; Mrs. Millie Hutchins of Wingate and Mrs. Bessie Duckworth of Crawfordsville; one brother, Henry Whitaker of Veedersburg; one stepson, Albert Williams of Crawfordsville; 32 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren. The funeral services will be held at the Waynetown Baptist Church Friday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock with Rev. Cornelius Airhart in charge. - kbz
